After watching Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, where he felt Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker to be reminiscent of the criminals with moralistic dualities he grew up with for his complexity of good and evil, he eventually found a “safe space” in the world of theatre, where he found some solace and joined. This inspired him to become an actor so he could inspire others like Ledger did.

Jonathan Majors Assault allegations:

A thirty-year-old woman was involved in a domestic argument with Majors on March 25, 2023, leading to accusations of assault, strangulation, and harassment. According to New York City police, the lady “sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.” That day, he was let go, and his spokeswoman refuted the accusations, claiming that Majors “had done nothing wrong… We are eager to clear his name and put things right. Majors was accused on March 26 in a court in New York City of assault, attempted assault, harassment, and aggravated harassment in connection with the arrest.

There were “two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations,” according to Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry. On March 30, Chaudhry published texts that the lady is said to have sent. One letter claimed, “They said they had to arrest you as protocol when they saw the injuries on me, and they knew we had a fight,” among other things. I’m furious with them for doing that. I’m sorry you’re in this situation as well. Will see to it that nothing occurs in this regard.

I admitted that I had tried to take your phone and it was my fault. I recently came out of the hospital,” read another message, and another stated: “I stressed how this was not an attack and they do not have my consent on filing any charges. After reading the paper they handed me regarding strangulation, I firmly said that it had not happened and that it needed to be removed right away.

According to a Variety article, Majors was identified as a suspect in further assault and abuse cases after the initial claim. Numerous alleged victims have reportedly come forward and are cooperating with the New York District Attorney’s office. Prior to a court session on May 9, a judge granted a temporary order of protection for one of the claimed victims against Majors.

The United States Army first declared it was stopping its recruitment ads using Majors in the aftermath of the event. While Mr. Majors is presumed innocent unless proven guilty, the Army said in a statement made public that “prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.”

Both the public relations agency the Lede business and the management business Entertainment 360 dismissed Majors as a client a few weeks after his imprisonment. Majors was supposed to executive produce and star in a forthcoming film adaptation of the Walter Mosley book The Man in My Basement, but he was dropped, and his part will now be played by someone else. Both Major’s invitation to 2023 Met Gala and his appearance in the Texas Rangers marketing campaign were withdrawn.
